Nubian Heritage has been making black soap products since 1992 and is one of the most recognisable names in natural beauty. Their African Black Soap Bar adds oat milk and aloe vera to the base formula, making it significantly more moisturising than most options.

Ingredients & Authenticity

Contains African black soap alongside coconut oil, shea butter, oat milk protein, and aloe vera. Also contains fragrance, which is a drawback for those with sensitive skin or fragrance allergies. The formula is more processed than Alaffia but more natural than SheaMoisture's version.

Texture & Feel

Firmer bar than most black soaps — easier to handle and lasts longer. The added oat milk gives it a noticeably smoother, creamier feel on the skin. Scent is mild and pleasant from the fragrance blend.

Results After 8 Weeks

Outstanding for dry and sensitive skin types. All three dry-skin testers reported significantly softer skin after 4 weeks. Less effective at controlling oil than Alaffia or SheaMoisture. Not ideal for acne-prone skin due to the fragrance. Best used as an everyday body bar for those who find raw black soap too harsh.
